This past Saturday saw the Lord Taverners British Wheelchair Basketball junior league finals with teams throughout the UK taking part in Under 15s and 19s action among them the South All Stars Under 19s made up of a combination of players from 7 southern clubs including Berkshire's Thames Valley Kings.

The South All Stars Under 19s first saw a huge quarter finals win 32-13 in a match up against London Titans 1 before moving on to the Semi final with London Titans 2. The Semi final was a tough match with Titans 2 powering out in the second half to win 31-14, to set up a bronze medal playoff for the All Stars against Sheffield Steelers.

In an nail-biting match up against Steelers, the All Stars edged away 27-23 and were crowned Bronze medal winners adding to the South Under 19s cup the team won in February, which saw a huge roar from the all stars supporters

Thatcham based player, Joe Humphreys who was Guard for the All Stars said 'It was great to be a part of the tournament and to come anyway with bronze was a bonus! Great team to be with and I look forward to next year!'

His team mate - Reece Barker, from Wokingham who was Forward for the All Stars said "It was a Quality team effort and I'm happy we improved on last year's result"

Reece's father and Thames Valley Kings assistant coach Grant added "It was a brilliant day with a great atmosphere. It was great seeing Reece and Joe playing so well after working so closely with them over the season. Well done guys"
