Match Report - Div 3 S+W - Vs Shock (H)

Last weekend Kings played Swindon Shock away and this weekend they returned from the double header match. Kings had home support including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Thatcham joined us to cheer us on as part of Thatcham festival. The team took to the floor lead out by Captain Wayne and went out determined to show Shock what Kings were able to bring to the floor. An early foul saw shock take to the free throw line, but not able to find the basket. Reece was first to score with Joe finding the net before shock scored in the 3rd minute. Reece and Joe continued to find the basket adding to the teams total with good team work from the rest of the team; While Shock where unable to get any to drop. 1st quarter finished 10 Kings v 3 Shock

Shock where first to score in the second quarter but Brad, Peter and Joe adding to the teams total took Kings out in front. Shock went twice to the free throw line and where unable to score. As the teams headed to the bench for half time the score was 20 Kings v 9 Shock.

After the half time break Shock where determine to get more points on the board and a change in tactics saw them outscore kings. Brad, Peter and Ryan adding to kings total, but shock had scored 10 v 6 to kings. As the quarter drew to a close the score was 26 kings v 19 shock.

Shock where quick off the mark in the 4th quarter score 3 baskets in the first minute before Joe scored in the 2nd minute bringing the score to a 3 point ball game, the teams where both working hard wanting the win shock just edged ahead.

With less than 3 minutes remaining in the game it was a one point ball game 35 shock v 34 kings. Shock scored in the final minute to finish the game as the winner. Final Score 37 Shock v 34 Kings. It was such a tough match for Kings who had lead for just over half the game to loss by 3 points.
