With both teams looking for their first win of the season this promised to be a well contested match. Kings opened the scoring through Peter Rapley who added another four points to the total before Harriers got their scoring underway but another four points through Wayne Burton and Joe Humphreys saw out a kings 10-2 first quarter lead.
A slow second quarter from the Kings saw a little fight back from the Harriers 2 team who won the quarter 9 points to 8, which included Harriers scoring five unanswered points including a three point shot, but with the second half to come there was still everything to play for! The half ended Kings 18-11 Harriers 2.
With the win still there for the taking both teams came out very positive. Harriers 2 got the first two points of the quarter but after that Kings really did start playing as well as everyone knew they could. The Kings went on a 18-2 run which saw Simmonds and Humphreys adding four and Rapley an impressive twelve for the quarter. The quarter ended 34-17 with Kings firmly in control heading in to the fourth.
The fourth offered much more of the same - the Kings came out flying! A very strong display from the Kings saw them going on a 20 point unanswered run in the fourth with Humphreys picking up another twelve in the quarter. A very impressive win for the Kings who took the match 54-17 - their first ever Division three win.
